1.600 KM in One Load: This Is What This Electric Car Promises
The Aptera was launched in 2005, but could not really get off the ground due to a loan that took a long time to show up. Now she’s back, promising 1,600 km of range in one charge.
The problem of electric cars? For most users, battery life is simply the main concern. No electric car can really compete with a conventional car when it comes to eating miles at a time.
But this is not necessarily an end in itself. A few years ago, the Aptera had the ambition to focus on this mission: to have the best range that an electric car can have.
In the absence of a US government loan that did not materialize, the project had to be buried. Now it is resurfacing.
The Aptera Returns with Its 1,600 KM Operating Distance
And its promise is more than interesting: to provide an electric vehicle capable of a range of 1,600 km on a single charge, in its most luxurious model of course. The Aptera is back, on WeFunder now.
To successfully offer this self-sufficiency, it is based on several elements. First of all, the car itself (with three wheels) is a simple two-seater and does not have a very large passenger compartment.
For good reason: its amazing design, which is actually optimized for air penetration in order to consume as little energy as possible, allowing this record range.
Thanks to the evolution of the market from 2005 to the present day, it is now much more affordable.
You can expect between €31,000 and €53,000 depending on the type of battery you want (from 40 kWh to 100 kWh) to recover the futuristic device.
However, the Aptera does not only have autonomy for it. Thanks to its design made of aeronautical resin, the vehicle is also more resistant than a classic car. However, we do not know its top speed or acceleration yet.
Aptera’s participatory fundraising campaign has already begun and has reached $48,138 thanks to 61 investors at the time of writing. It will require a minimum of $100,000 to be validated in the coming days.
